Mac OS X – Clearing or flushing the DNS Cache is regular occurrence for a network engineer.
Once you go to a Web site, or do any DNS lookup, the IP gets cached for quite a while. This becomes a royal pain if youíre a systems administrator who is in the middle of migrating domains from one server to another. Executing the following clears the cache, restarts the caching daemon, and fetches fresh DNS records.

- There are several steps involved in flush DNS Cache in macOS Catalina which are very easy to follow. All you need to open Terminal on your mac to run a few commands. MacOS Catalina Open Terminal (Application – Utilities – Terminal or click Go- Utilities- Terminal).
- Things can also go awry when you upgrade your Mac with new hardware, add memory, install a new graphics card, or change startup volumes. All of these activities can write new data to the parameter RAM. Writing data to the parameter RAM isn't an issue in itself, but it can be a source of problems when you change multiple items on your Mac.
- If you are using Mac OS X 10.7 (Lion), click the Downloads icon displayed on the browser. In Mozilla, choose Tools Downloads. To open the uninstaller, double-click it in the Downloads window.
